Sourav Ganguly

Way back in 1992, when Pakistan had won the world cup, Indian team had gone to the dogs. The players performed very sloppily and defeats were coming in bunches. That time, a tiger made his debut in world cricket which we know as Sourav Ganguly. Sourav Ganguly holds the record of maximum number of sixes by an Indian (190) which is now the world's 3rd most after Shahid Afridi of Pakistan (256) and the extraordinary cricketer of Sri Lanka, Sanath Jayasuriya (275). Sourav Ganguly made the fastest 7000, 8000 and 9000 runs in ODI cricket which finally led the desicion to make him the captain in 2001, when the team was struggling with Sachin Tendulkar as its captain.
