Only cricketer in Indian History to get 600+ wickets. 619 in fact. Kumble played his first match in 1990 when he began as a sloppy apparantice but after few years his wicket hauling continued. The time continued till 1996-97 when he took his 10 wicket haul in a single innings (10-74). This was his best innings. He took over as the Indian Captain in his 118th match. The record of being the captain after the most number of matches was that of Glen McGrath (115 tests) which was broken by him. No matter, many people put of questions on his inefficient captainship but his captainship was full of patience and power! Hope Dhoni continues Anil's succession in a royal way!
